1-10. Rancho Rincon del Diablo:
In 1843, Mexican Governor Micheltorena granted a major part of the Escondido Valley to Juan Bautista Alvarado. The Rancho was sold to Oliver S. Witherby. Today, most of the rancho land is within the Escondido
city limits.
