12. Dead Horse Canyon:
Carcasses carted into a southerly canyon of Rancho Rincon del Diablo were
dumped for buzzards and coyotes to fight over. Settlers dubbed it Dead
Horse Canyon. During World War I, the bones were collected to use for
bi-products for the war effort.
