32. Thomas-Eureka Ranches: In the late 1880’s, one of Escondido’s founders, R.A. Thomas, developed this citrus ranch. In 1906 Al Beven enlarged the Thomas “show” Ranch to 500 acres renaming it “Eureka Ranch.” A portion of the ranch was known as “Little Tokyo” when Beven employed a Japanese labor force. -Back to the map page-
