The Haunting
by Joan Lowery Nixon

Lia figures out that Graymoss is haunted by evil spirits.  Lia knows this because she read her great-great-great grandmother's diary.  Lia convinces herself that there are o such things as ghosts.  Lia later visits Graymoss and frees the evil spirits.

The Name of the Game was Murder
by Joan Lowery Nixon

Augustus, a rich man, gets killed in his own house when he has guests there.  Before he died he left notes that lead them to the manuscript.  The manuscript had their deepest secrets.  Who was the murderer?  No one knows.  This is a great book.

Animal Farm
by George Orwell

This book is about a farm run by a drunken farmer whose laziness ruins his success.  The animals on the farm start a revolution and take over the farm, created rules to follow for animal rule.  The pigs, leaders of the farm, give up leadership to one pig, who is then leader of the farm.  The corruption caused by a government with only one leader challenges the animals lives on the farm.

Eldest
by Christopher Paolini

This is the continuation of the Eragon series.  Eragon the dragon rider journeys through the Beor Mountains and into the forests of Du Weldenvarden to complete his training.  Meanwhile, at Carvahall Roran has an inhuman problem...I especially liked all the action in this book.  It has a really cool story line and plot.

Eragon
by Christopher Paolini

This book is well worth the read.  Gripping from the first page.  A twisted struggle betwixt good and evil, with lots of adventure, swordfights, and humor thrown in.  Very well written, it takes you on an adventure that will amuse, frighten, and keep you on the edge of your seat no matter how many times you read it.

A Child Called "It"
by Dave Pelzer

The book is about a boy whose life started out good.  He lived with his mother, his father, and his brother.  His mother was good to him for a while.  After a while she started being a drunk and would abuse him.  She wouldn't feed him and wouldn't send him to school.  The school would wonder what happened to him and they went to check.  he was going to school finally, but he was still getting hurt.  Then finally the school nurse that would treat him had had enough and called the police.  He was taken to a home and was not allowed to live with his mom anymore.  He grew up and wrote this story on how bad his life was and how he got it back.

by Tamora Pierce

One of Tamora Pierce's best books!  Tere is less action and fighting in this one than the other series.  If you like her other books I suggest that you read this one!

Lyra and her deamon Pan's world turns upside down when she gets the alethiometer, a truth telling device.  Don't want to give anything away but the story is full of great little twists and turns.

by Wilson Rawls

A boy saves money for two years to buy dogs.  he gets $10 back.  The dogs are hunting dogs to catch raccoons.  The boy sells the furs.  One of the dogs dies and two weeks later the other dog dies of a broken heart.  On the grave a red fern grew.

by Erich Maria Remarque

This book was great.  It was about World War I and what is was like on the Western Front (Germany).  It tells of a man who lives the life of war at the age of 19 and how it all went.

Tomb Raider: the Amulet of Fire
by Mike Resnick

Tomb Raider fans will admire Lara Croft once again as she sets out to delve for the Amulet of Power.  The story takes place between "The Last Revelation" and "Angel of Darkness" so if you want to see what happens to Lara in the meantime, read this book and find out!!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter goes to his fourth year at Hogwarts and somehow gets entered into the TriWizard Tournament.  He faces his first task -a dragon - his second task - swimming in the lake to save Ron from the merpeople - and his third task - finding his way through a maze into the middle, where he and another student are transported to a place where the resurrection of Voldemort.

I truly enjoyed this book.  The fantasy writer's job is to conduct the willing reader from mundanity to magic.  This is a feat of which only a superior imagination is capable, and Rowling possesses such equipment.  I find this book to be enjoyable for all ages.  and no matter what the book is always better than the movie.

by J.K. Rowling

This book is a phenomenal book to read.  It is full of suspense and is a thrill for anyone who liked book 1 or 2.  The twisting plot where black goes to evil puts you in a "can't put the book down" mode.  I believe this is a great book for all ages.

This is one of the greatest books I have ever read!  It is suspenseful, action-packed, interesting and includes a little bit of romance.  I truly believe you should read this book (but it's better to read the set in order).  So read it - get smarter and have fun!

Harry and Dudley get attacked by dementors, then Harry gets expelled before school even starts.  Dumbledore gets Harry out of trouble.  It is a new year at Hogwarts and there is a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.  Professor Umbridge is a ministry official who forces her way through many educational degrees.  Harry, Fred and George get banned from quidditch.

In this book, Harry, Hermoine and Ron get in a whole new adventure with Voldemort in the picture.  This book gave me different emotions such as excitement, amusement, and at the end it made me cry.  This is the best book I have read.
