Can't get to the Library but still want to take advantage of our services?

Sign up for an Online Services Library Card. As an online registrant, you will be able to:

  • request library materials
  • check out eBooks
  • access our research databases

In order to check out physical items, please bring legal photo ID to the Library's Customer Service desk.

 

Who can get a library card?

Any person may get a library card with a legal photo ID.

 

What do I need to get a full service library card?

With a full service library card you can: 

To get a full service library card, visit the Library to fill out a Library Card Application. Please bring a legal photo ID.

Acceptable forms of ID:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • California ID card
  • Resident Alien card
  • Military ID
  • Passport

Parents or guardians must sign application and show their ID for children and teens under 18 years of age.

 

Where can I use my card?

You can only use your card at the Escondido Public Library.  Escondido is not part of the San Diego Public Library System or the San Diego County Library system.

Returning books to libraries outside Escondido
If you return Escondido Public Library books to a library that is in San Diego County, but is outside the City of Escondido, you may be charged late fines.  Please do not return CDs, DVDs, or audiobooks to any library except Escondido Public Library.

 

What happens if I lose my card?

Report lost/stolen cards immediately to Customer Service: 760-839-4684

Replacement Library cards cost $2.00.
